Oldschool RPG's

Chrono Trigger is one of the best games out there. It’s only easy if you take a lot of time to level up between quests.

Fighting Lavos at level 63+ is very easy.

Very.

hmmm well actually whether or not you beat the golems doesn’t affect the storyline at all but you can go ahead and try it for kicks. I think I did it once and it was very hard considering the level people usually are at around that part of the game.

Soo… you’re saying you don’t have to fight the twin golems?

If you can’t beat the Golem Twins, then you probably won’t have much of a chance against Lavos.

Equip the White Mail and use Lightning against the Golems. Or the Red Mail/fire, etc. When they mimic your attacks, you’ll be healed.

If you don’t have any Mails, then…uh…

i would have to say the old school final fantasy from 1 to 7 but the rest just suck

No you don’t actually, whether you win or lose, you and your party will end up in the floaty thing and Schala will free you, if you do beat them however, you’ll get exp gold items etc.

I guess not…?

Anyone here play the Seiken Densetsu series?
I thought the first 3 games were awesome, however Legend of Mana was a complete joke.

A very fun joke.

Oh my god… If I had known this before… So much frustration… GAH!

I remember playing Chrono Trigger on the SNES. I also remember losing my save file right near the end because I turned off my SNES in the middle of a battle.

You have to fight the Golems the second time around, however.

That’s when they devour your face.

But they’re really not so bad. You shouldn’t have that many problems defeating them, as long as you keep your healy chick close at hand.

Yeah the battles were very fun with the combos and special moves, but that’s all it had going for it. It was way too Seiken Densetsu unorthodox.

No no, you’re thinking of the very first Golem battle when you first get to 12000 BC, where there’s only one Golem, and you instantly lose.

The Twin Golem battle happens after you leave and come back to 12000 BC.

Apparently you can put the Twin Golems to sleep with Hypno Wave. This is something I learned today. This makes today a good day.

hmmm really? hehe sorry to let you down Chembot. tho I wonder if Roms speaks the truth… Hypnowave on a boss? :-/

It works.

I saw it with my own eyes.

Well, I have to restart the game now since I lost my save game long ago. However, I’ll keep this thread in my links untill then.

Has anyone here played any of those ancient unreleased Square SNES RPGs? such as:

Treasure Hunter G, Rudora No Hihou, LiveALive, Front Mission, Alcahest, or Bahamut Lagoon? Ahh yes and let’s not forget Radical Dreamers (the supposed prequel to Chrono Trigger).

Bahamut Lagoon: No Freedom whatsoever. You never feel like you’re getting a break, always onward, forward onward! So not fun… The battles are fun, I like the characters, but the battles are too long, and there’s no ‘random encounter’ feeling… no rest spots, no wandering the map… No wonder it never made it here.

Hmmm… well I think the main fun thing was supposed to be raising the Dragons.
