Lies of truthfullness?!?!?!?!

Okay, all of you have had the doubtful pleasure of seeing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show. From gay-looking Casey Jones to black Baxter Stockman, coupled with a distinct lack of Bebop and Rocksteady, this show definitely sings a different tune than the one we grew up watching. But did you know that’s how it was SUPPOSED to be? Yes, the original comics, Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, actually had the darker artwork, the different origin for Splinter, and pretty much every other thing that makes this show “fake” in the eyes of the fans. Marketing and spin artists forced the creators of the comics to make drastic changes for the TV show, to the point where it had very little resemblence to their original idea. With this new show, they finally have total creative control, and can tell the REAL story. Which is, no krang, no dimension X, no robot Foot Ninjas, no Bebop or Rocksteady, and pretty much as little mutants as possible, to make the Turtles seem more special. And of course, for some reason, gay Casey Jones.

What a world eh? Oh, and in case you were wondering, the first cartoon was shut down by the FCC for not being educational enough. Way to go there.

So what are we to accept as real? This new/old version, fitting the original comic’s intent, minus some of the violence, or the old, completely nuts show, which created a second series in the early nineties, wherein Aliens and some guy with dreadlocks became central to the plot?

GO OUT THERE AND VOTES!!!

What? Kraing was the best character ever! He’s a talking braaaaiiiiiin… with stubby arms controlling a robot body. Best. Ever.

This renders the show unwatchable. PERIOD.

Correct.

But… I learned about helping the environment from TMNT! Not educational enough, my ass!

Having not seen the old comics or the new episodes I am going to have to say the old TV show was definitely best and will remain the real thing for me!

Didn’t they try a live action tv show for a while too?

The movies were live-action… and Go-Ninja-tastic.

YO! It’s the green machine – Gonna rock the town without bein’ seen
Have you ever seen a turtle Get Down? – Slammin’ Jammin’ to the new swing sound
Yeah, everybody let’s move – Vanilla is here with the new Jack Groove
Gonna rock, and roll this place – With the power of the ninja turtle bass
Iceman, ya know I’m not playin’ – Devistate the show while the turtles are
sayin:

Chorus:
Ninja, Ninja, RAP! Ninja, Ninja, RAP!
GO GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
GO GO GO GO

Lyrics, fill in the gap – Drop that bass and get the NINJA RAP
Feel it, if you know what I mean – Give it up for those heroes in green
Just flowin, smooth with the power – Kickin’ it up, hour after hour
Cause in this life there’s only one winner – You better aim good so you can
hit the center
In it to win it, with a team of four – Ninja Turtles that you gotta adore it’s

GO GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
GO GO GO GO

Choose your weapon but don’t slip – Vanilla’s in control with the flex of the
mic grip
Rockin’ the crowd the way it should be rocked – With the Miami drop that you

Hittin like a Ninja Turtle when the bass kicks in – You better check your level
The power of the Ninja is strong – Fightin’ all the crooks until they’re all gone

GO GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!

Chorus
Ninja, Ninja, RAP! Ninja, Ninja, RAP!
GO GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
GO GO GO GO

I used to own the old black and white Eastman and Leard (or whatever their names were) comics, and they were awesome.

So many dismembered foot soldiers.

You can imagine my childhood confusion when the cartoon came on the air and they were terrible.

I think the new series is acceptable becaWATCH OUT FOR SHREDDER

They were great, but only someone like Roms could appreciate them with a mature mind.

The old comics had the huge disadvantage of always getting bogged down in half victories and millions of shades of grey, from what I’ve read. The show made the turtles more heroic and made Shredder be a constant presence rather than a pathetic 3-time appearance guy. But obviously the violence and psychology was missing, replaced with puns and a huge bunch of bumbling evil mutants. Hell, the only unarguably cool thing to come out of the show was Slash.

the movies were swell, i have the sound tracks for all of them. mc hammer shoulda never phased out.

Yeah the films were cool too, although it was and still is called the “Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles” over here in Britainland because the word ninja is just way too violent!!!

Truer words have never been spoken.

I had a ninja turtle costume back in the day, i wonder if it still fits…

Sad to say, that’s a jpeg image and not a costume. Sorry dude. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

thats me in the costume, what are you talking about?

Yeah, I don’t think thats a very realistic costume!

Cadium delivers!

Can anyone find any images from the old comics? I kinda miss them.
