So what if Tiger woods, still an amateur, or heck, a Freshman at Stanford decided instead of going into the PGA circuit, to join the ranks of the LPGA. Now, college golfing being decidedly below LPGA standards (theoretically),so by your logic he would have every right to do so, and by now would be 139-0 in tournaments.
Now, not all male golfers are inherently better than the fems, just because they are men, so should they be allowed to intermingle? Isn’t this why the LPGA was created? To make sure all women golfers got a chance to play, and all male golfers got a chance to play, even if some of them were worse than some of the top women? I mean, if men and women intermingled, there’d be far fewer female golfers on the professional circuit (they’d never make the cut, thanks to the men). Same deal on the PGA. People like Anika and Se Ri Pak would drive lower echelon golfers out of the game entirely.
Putting Anika aside for a second, without the LPGA, women golfers would be getting pantsed at every turn in pro golf. Now, just because one woman thinks she’s good enough (just in THIS tournament, mind you) she thinks she can abandon the LPGA for a weekend just to show off her mettle against the boys…for ONE WEEKEND?
I don’t buy it. She’s playing down to her skill level and striking an opportunity at publicity while the iron is white hot. I might give her more credit if she started wearing her ovaries on the outside and played in every single men’s tournament this year, but we all know she’d get creamed (I doubt she’d even make the cut for the British Open).
Did she play the regular tees or the women’s… because if she played the regular… I say good job. If she played off the women’s… she should get the fuck out of this and stay out of any future pga event.
I saw this on the news today and this smarmy guy was basically saying anyone contesting this was fighting for their frail male ego or whatever. I’ma rape him.
Originally posted by Trot_to_Trotsky I never said she wasn’t a quality golfer. My argument is that she isn’t a man.
And I think what you and the doctor have both missed is this part:
LPGA = Ladies Professional Golf Association
PGA = Professional Golf Association
The LPGA may only be for women, but there’s no reason for the PGA to be only open for men. I don’t really buy any of this amateur bullshit. Anyone who’s good enough to play in the PGA should be there. And anyone who’s good enough to play in the NBA should be there. Just because the LPGA and WNBA exist doesn’t mean they’re amateur leagues. They’re women’s leagues. The difference is that the PGA and NBA are pro leagues… not men’s pro leagues… and they don’t have grounds for opposing the entry of women. You want a men-only golf league? Start the MPGA.
I don’t see why I didn’t butt in earlier because I think you and the doctor are both nuts.
And the M is implied in front of “work place”, “voting booth” and “pants”, too. Also, there’s a W with a meaning that is not “woman” in front of the first two. The WMWP, WMVB and MP are respectable organizations! You will not break their traditions just to suit your progressive whims!
If an MPGA was started, and it’s first rule was: men only, feminists everywhere would literally explode at the idea. They would actually begin bursting forth the thick, viscous, steaming black sludge that they pretend is their blood.

Hmm…quick, somebody start the MPGA! [/B]
First: I think it’s obvious why there’s no MPGA and why there’s no good reason for there to be an MPGA. Anyone who actually sits down for a minute and stops being a totally unreasonable anti-feminist can understand why women would need a separate league while men would not (both because of skill and discrimination).
Second: Anything that will cause any part of feminists to explode in a manner that would be both embarrassing and painful for the feminists sounds too good to be true.
So now we can put all of this behind us. What has she proven? That women are inferior at golf, even when playing an easy course against relatively bad male golfers.
